During the detail on Tuesday, July 17, troopers issued a total of 74 tickets and made one arrest of one motorist who was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
In total, police doled out 48 speeding tickets, one summons for a motorist not wearing a seatbelt and 25 other tickets for various violations of vehicle and traffic law.
According to police, these details will continue throughout the year as troopers make an effort to curtail dangerous driving and keep highways safe for motorists.
The speed enforcement detail comes on the heels of several others, which has seen hundreds of motorists cited for various violations on New York roadways this year.
